You MUST book this band!  Realistic, Authentic, All Sold Out shows...are just some of the words used to describe the Hank Williams Sr. Tribute show!

Bobby Koefer, Steel Player-Texas Playboys

Hank Williams grew up around Montgomery, Alabama, working the honky-tonks throughout the South before joining the Louisiana Hayride in 1948.  In 1949, Hank became a regular on the Grand Ole Opry.  His popularity skyrocketed over the next two years as he scored hit after hit.  In August 1952 Hank was fired from the Grand Ole Opry and returned to the Hayride.  On January 1, 1953, Hank died in the back seat of his Cadillac on his way to an engagement in Ohio.

Hankerin' 4 Hank promises to hold true to the original arrangements and style of Hank Williams Sr.  These incredibly talented musicans are taking a step back in time in presenting these tunes in the style that Hank wrote them. You will experience the look and the sound of Hank Williams as he performed in 1951.   Hankerin' 4 Hank provides the "Drifting Cowboy" sound that backed Hank, complete with the doghouse bass and honky-tonk guitar and steel that so much defined the music of that era.
In addition to the authentic sound, Hank's clothing for the tribute is an original creation by Manuel that was made especially for this project.  Manuel was a young clothier working for Nudie’s Rodeo Tailors of Hollywood and also happened to be married to Nudie Cohen’s daughter and worked on all the original Hank Williams Sr. Nudie suits.

"The Hank Williams Tribute show and videos are as realistic and authentic as I could ever imagine.  The voice, the band, the wardrobe. Its all there, just like it really was. " -Bobby Koefer, Texas Playboy Steel Player
